More About Solar Telescopes
Astronomers can learn much about the distant nighttime stars by studying the characteristics and behavior of our own, daytime star. For amateur astronomers, viewing the Sun with a telescope is both interesting and fun! Solar telescopes are special-purpose telescopes used specifically for viewing the Sun. Solar telescopes usually detect light with wavelengths in, or not far outside, the visible spectrum. All of the solar telescopes which Orion offers use hydrogen-alpha filter systems to observe the sun.
